Dampa Tiger Reserve is the only tiger reserve in Mizoram.
Dampa Tiger Reserve
- Location: Mamit district, Mizoram, northeastern India; along the India–Bangladesh international border.
- Wildlife Sanctuary: Declared in 1985 under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.
- Tiger Reserve: Designated during 1994–95; only tiger reserve in Mizoram.
- Area: 988 sq km (Core: 500 sq km; Buffer: 488 sq km).
- Hills: Chhawrpialtlang (1095 m, highest peak), Dampatlang (869 m), Pathlawilunglentlang (780 m).
- River: Khawthlangtuipui River, Teirei River; tributaries include Keisalam River, Seling River, Aivapui River.
- Plants: Tropical evergreen forests, semi-evergreen forests.
- Animals: Tiger, Leopard, Clouded Leopard, Golden Cat, Leopard Cat, Marbled Cat, Dhole, Himalayan Black Bear, Malayan Sun Bear, Indian Flying Lizard.
- Special Note: One of the highest population densities of Clouded Leopards recorded in India.
