Satkosia Tiger Reserve
- Location: Angul, Cuttack, Boudh, and Nayagarh districts, Odisha; along the Mahanadi River; Eastern Ghats region; transitional zone between the Chhota Nagpur Plateau and the Deccan Plateau.
- Wildlife Sanctuary: Established in 1976 as Satkosia Wildlife Sanctuary; includes Satkosia Gorge Sanctuary and Baisipalli Sanctuary.
- Tiger Reserve: Declared in 2007 under Project Tiger.
- Area: 963.87 sq km (Core/Critical: 523.61 sq km; Buffer/Peripheral: 440.26 sq km); core area forms part of the Mahanadi Elephant Reserve.
- River: Mahanadi River flows through and defines the gorge landscape.
- Tribe: Kondh tribe.
- Plants: Asan, Dhaura, Simal, Teak.
- Animals: Tiger, Leopard, Sambar, Chousingha, Gaur, Wild Dog, Sloth Bear, Freshwater Crocodile, Gharial.
Simlipal Tiger Reserve
- Location: Mayurbhanj district, Odisha; eastern end of the Eastern Ghats.
- Naming: Named after Semul / red silk cotton trees (Bombax ceiba), locally known as Similipal.
- Tiger Reserve: Designated in 1956; brought under Project Tiger in 1973.
- Wildlife Sanctuary: Declared in 1979.
- National Park: Upgraded to national park status in 1980.
- Biosphere Reserve: Declared by the Government of India in 1994.
- UNESCO Status: Similipal Biosphere Reserve recognized under the UNESCO Man and Biosphere Programme in 2009.
- Area: 2750 sq km (Core: 1194.75 sq km; Buffer: 1555.25 sq km).
- Hills: Part of the Eastern Ghats; highest peaks are twin summits Khairiburu and Meghashini (1515 m).
- River: Burhabalanga, Palpala Bandan, Salandi, Kahairi, and Deo rivers.
- Waterfalls: Barehipani Falls, Joranda Falls.
- Tribe: Kolha, Santhal, Bhumija, Bhatudi, Gond, Khadia, Mankadia, Sahara.
- Plants: sal, asan, simal, mahua, garjan, haldinia, kusum, amal, bamboo, grasslands and savanna.
- Animals: Tiger, Leopard, Leopard Cat, Hyena, Sambar, Chital, Mugger Crocodile.
- Black Tiger: World’s highest incidence of black tiger sightings; black tigers first officially recorded in 1975–76.
